With the launch of our AsiaMedic PET/CT Centre on 16 June 2003, we
are pleased to bring forth the revolutionary PET/CT scans to
patients in Singapore and the region based on the most advanced
technology of GE Discovery 8. Our scanner which is an integrated PET
and CT scanner is the most advanced in Singapore and the region,
being the 1st to be installed outside the USA and only the 4th to be
installed worldwide*.
Why are we so excited? The
PET/CT scans are revolutionary because they are revealing more
than ever before, the changes that are occurring in the human body.
PET/CT scans are adding new dimensions to a physicians ability to:

Make early diagnosis PET/CT scans allow disease to
be diagnosed
before structural changes become detectable (via anatomical imaging
techniques such as CT scan and MRI) therefore potentially improving
the prognosis.

Manage patient therapy Patients response to a
given regimen can
be monitored and early feedback on the efficacy of the treatment can
be obtained from the PET/CT scans. This can help reduce the cost of
ineffective treatments or unnecessary hospitalization.
