Types of Examinations
What does spirometry assess?
This measures lung volume and gives an indication
of the lung function. This is especially helpful for patients who
have chronic conditions such as asthma; bronchitis or who are heavy
smokers.
What is the purposes of doing a pelvic examination and PAP
smear?
This examination enables the doctor to assess the
female reproduction organs to exclude ovarian tumours, uterine
fibroids and cervical cancers. The PAP smear involves a painless
scraping from the cervix, which is screened for malignancy.
Health Screen Plan and Results
What are the plans available?
Packages available are as follows:
When will I get my health screen results?
As you would normally undergo a blood test and
other tests requiring laboratory investigations, you may expect to
obtain your health screen results two weeks from your first
appointment.
Others
Can I take my medication?
If you are on any long-term medication e.g.
anti-hypertensive agents, please bring these along. You can take the
morning dose with breakfast.
Can I request for additional tests which are not included in my
health screen plan?
Yes, you can. For example if you have concerns
about osteoporosis, you may inform our physicians or staff that you
would like to have a Bone Mass Density (BMD) test which can be
performed at our
Orchard Imaging Centre. This additional
test will be invoiced to you as a separate item.
